Welcome to the New SSYRA Online Home

We are proud to join the main FAME website and look forward to using the capabilities of the new site to make this an interactive and aesthetically-pleasing home to the SSYRA program which is sponsored by FAME and the Florida Department of Education.

To that end you will be seeing a host of new files available for download (including sticker labels for books, voting materials, brochures, bookmarks and much more), but you must be a FAME member to access them. The sad truth is that FAME needs your help today to maintain the services we have all taken for granted. We will endeavor to continue to improve our offerings to ensure you feel your tax-deductible membership is worth it. On behalf of the SSYRA committee, we look forward to seeing everyone at this year's FAME conference.

Announcing the 2013 Winners of the SSYRA Award

There was a clear winner in the grades 3 to 5 voting! The Familars by Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson out-magic-ed the rest of a strong pack of books!

In grades 6 to 8, the winner was decided by a handful of votes! But in the end the adventure of Lost in the River of Grass by Ginny Rorby survived the fierce competition, in addition to the pythons and alligators of the Everglades!

Who will win next year? With the strong array of books available, (click here to view them now)  it is impossible to predict! Congratulations to the authors of this year's winning SSYRA books, and a big thank you to all the students who read and voted and to their librarians and teachers who supported the program!
